Please Follow them to show your support

  1. Incision care: Keep the surgical incision dry and do not apply anything topical. Avoid bathing your pet for at least 10-14 days after surgery.
  2. Activity restriction: Limit your pet’s activity for the next 7-10 days. Avoid allowing them to run, jump, or engage in vigorous play. Leash walks for bathroom breaks are acceptable, but keep them short and controlled.
  3. Feeding instructions: Offer your pet a small meal once they’ve fully recovered from anesthesia. Gradually reintroduce their regular diet over the next 24 hours. Ensure they have access to fresh water at all times. Vomiting once or twice and/or not eating for 12 hours post op can be observed. Special instructions for kittens may be given.
  4. Monitoring for complications: Check the incision when you get home today, we consider this normal. Keep an eye on the surgical incision for any signs of redness, swelling, discharge, or excessive licking. Monitor your pets behavior and appetite.
  5. Elizabethan collar (cone):  If your pet tends to lick or chew at the incision site, we recommend using an Elizabethan collar (cone), which we offer for purchase, to prevent access to the incision site.
  6. Contact your full-service animal hospital or vet emergency clinic: If you have any questions or concerns about your pet’s recovery, don’t hesitate to contact your veterinanian for guidance and support.

Remember every pet’s recovery process is unique. It is essential to follow your veterinarian’s specific instructions and recommendations.

***REMINDER! DO NOT LET YOUR PET LICK OR CHEW AT THE INCISION SITE***
